Created by Reddit user anths_art, this Mortal Kombat 11 art gives a peek at the changes that Scorpion has undergone since his debut in 1992’s Mortal Kombat. Considering the fact that Scorpion has appeared as a playable character in every generation of MK, there is quite a bit of source material for the artist to draw from, and the artwork features 10 different versions of the yellow ninja.

For those that are intrigued by this MK11 art, more of anths_art’s work can be found on their Instagram, and it focuses on subject matter ranging from horror to fantasy and beyond. There are even in-progress images of the featured Scorpion piece to be seen, which offer a look at various stages of the creative process — a process that the artist indicates took more than 40 hours in full.

While the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters may be what fans are most interested in at this point in time, it is hard to deny just how iconic Scorpion is. In fact, Scorpion is such a legend, that he is even found himself making appearances outside of the Mortal Kombat franchise, showing up in games like NBA Jam Tournament Edition and The Grid.

With respect to the MK11 DLC characters, fans are still patiently waiting for the release of Nightwolf, the game’s apparent second post-launch fighter. Despite the current absence of a release date, there is at least video footage of Mortal Kombat 11’s Nightwolf to help pass the time. And if that doesn’t work, fan artworks, like the one seen here from anths_art, may just be enough to keep some fans excited about MK11.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development.
