For the uninitiated, a Babality in Mortal Kombat is when players turn the opponents into babies after defeating them, and they were first introduced back in Mortal Kombat 2. These variants of the fatality have come in many forms over the years, with Babalities, Animalities, Friendships, Brutalities, and Hara-Kiris being some of the more popular. And now, thanks to the Mortal Kombat 11 creator and developer Ed Boon, many think they are returning.

This is because Boon made a post on Twitter which showcased a picture of a crying Fred Flintstone baby. His comment was “BABALITY” and “#FredFlintstoneKonfirmed.” It seems that Fred Flintstone would have as much of a chance of being added to the roster as Scooby Doo’s Shaggy in Mortal Kombat 11, so that’s most likely a joke.

On the other hand, Babalities being added would not be the craziest addition to Mortal Kombat 11, and since this tease is coming straight from Ed Boon, it certainly seems like a possibility. That said, it’s worth mentioning that Boon has a reputation for being a bit of a troll, so this could mean absolutely nothing. The best thing to do is to take this with a small grain of salt and wait for something more official to be confirmed.

With there being a month prior to the official release of Mortal Kombat 11, a Babality confirmation should come sooner rather than later, unless it is a planned surprise for release. This is certainly a possibility, but this tease has many hoping that it is so, with many also hoping their favorite from the aforementioned variants could also appear in the new installment. Only time will tell, though.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases April 23, 2019, on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
