On Sunday, Mortal Kombat 11 director, and series co-creator, Ed Boon announced that NetherRealm Studios would reveal the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters “next week,” news that was certainly welcomed by those that have been excitedly waiting for more MK11 characters to arrive. Now, it appears that an exact date for the reveal of the MK11 DLC characters has been set, and, in fact, it is right around the corner.
As indicated by the official Mortal Kombat 11 Twitter account, it seems that the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC fighter announcement referenced by Boon will occur tomorrow, Friday, May 31. No further details are provided by the text of the tweet, which means that the exact time at which the DLC characters from MK11 will be shown is not currently known. As such, fans may simply need to be on the lookout until the announcement occurs.
Additionally, there is no direct confirmation from the game’s official Twitter account that all of the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack characters will be announced tomorrow, and perhaps only a couple of them will be revealed. However, Boon’s aforementioned tweet seemed to imply that all of the MK11 DLC fighters would be shown, and thus it seems as though fans can expect to see the five characters that will join Shang Tsung as DLC.
Now, the big question is certainly who these DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 11 will be. Many are likely aware of a Mortal Kombat 11 DLC leak, which occurred just prior to the game’s official release and appeared to reveal nine DLC fighters. Indeed, there has been quite a bit of evidence to suggest that this leak is accurate, including a recent tweet from Boon that may have confirmed one Mortal Kombat 11 DLC character from the leak.
Thus, it is possible that players will see five of the characters included in the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC leak officially confirmed tomorrow. Some fans are even speculating that the colors used in the image included in today’s tweet point specifically to some of these characters. While this speculation may not ultimately materialize, at least these excited fans do not have much longer to wait before receiving more information on the Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
