If there is one existing video game where Pennywise would fit right in, it would be Mortal Kombat 11. Pennywise isn’t exactly known for its hand-to-hand combat, but its ability to transform into virtually anything could make for a very unique move-set. Its Fatality could also incorporate its Deadlights, or maybe its “true” form as a giant spider (the human mind can’t actually comprehend what It looks like, so the spider is as close as we can get).
Unfortunately, it seems highly unlikely that Pennywise will come to Mortal Kombat 11. Ed Boon responded to the fan inquiry with the song “I Wish” by Stevie Wonder, though, so it does seem like he would be open the idea.
Mortal Kombat 11 fans are only guaranteed two more guest fighters in the game as part of Kombat Pack 1. These characters have remained a mystery so far, but multiple leaks have potentially revealed them to be The Terminator and Ash Williams from the Evil Dead franchise. Datamining efforts have also found evidence that The Joker from DC Comics is also being considered for a guest fighter role in the game.
If The Joker is added to Mortal Kombat 11 as rumored, it seems like a possible Pennywise appearance would be even less likely. After all, it would be a bit odd to have two deranged killer clowns on one fighting game roster - but then again, the Mortal Kombat series has had no shortage of palette-swapped ninjas over the years, so maybe it could still happen.
Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development as well.
