The flood of fan requests died down some after every Kombat Pack 1 character was confirmed, but with recent rumors for Kombat Pack 2 rearing their heads, many are hoping the character returns. For various reasons, that just seems unlikely to ever happen in Mortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat’s Mileena
Mileena appears in different ways in Mortal Kombat 11, whether it’s intro mentions or her design choices appearing else where, but as many are aware, she dies in Mortal Kombat X. Kotal Kahn orders D’vorah to do away with her, and D’vorah does so through a rather disgusting kiss. This is perhaps the main reason she’s not in the base game, but given the time traveling shenanigans on the core campaign, it was never impossible for her to return. And such, it’s still not impossible that she returns..as far as the story is concerned.
Yet the flood of demands for the character is a double-edged sword. There’s a good chance that the remaining Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters have been decided upon for some time, and even if that is not the case, there’s no telling what these requests actually do. Boon has joked about it enough that he and the team at NetherRealm Studios are well-aware of the demand, but it’s also a good supply for trolls, jokes, and more. The latter could be what Mileena is reduced to, effectively.
Perhaps one possible scenario that could be derived from this is actually worse than Mileena never joining the game. As it stands, dataminers have found information to support the idea that 11 more DLC characters are still coming to Mortal Kombat 11. This would suggest at least two more Kombat Packs if they followed suit (closely anyway) with the first one, and it would not be too surprising to find out eventually that Mileena is the very last character. It would be, simply put, the biggest troll that could be done in Mileena’s sake.
Kombat Pack 2 Characters
Otherwise, while fans shouldn’t expect Mileena, stranger things have happened. She’s not impossible as much as she is just really really really unlikely. However, NetherRealm has proven time and again that it can deliver high-quality DLC content, as each character in the original was better than the last, coming to a perfect end with Spawn. The latest rumors and leaks point to the possibility that the Kombat Pack 2 characters are Sheeva, Fujin, Army of Darkness’ Ash Williams, Takeda, Stryker, and Robocop. Some of these are hit and miss, while others seem to be a shoe-in.
Fans should temper their expectations, though, when it comes to the aforementioned characters. And perhaps it’s time to hang up the pitchforks when it comes to Mileena. The only thing that’s almost certain if more Kombat Packs drop for Mortal Kombat 11 is that it will exceed any expectations that remain.
Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
