Just like the other costume packs, this set contains new skins for three characters. This time around we have Raiden, and two of the newcomers to MK11, Geras and Cetrion. Raiden is sporting a Bela Lugosi-inspired Dracula look, Geras looks almost unrecognizable as Frankenstein’s monster, and Cetrion has a Mummy design, complete with her headdress replaced by an Egyptian scarab crown.

It is interesting that, while all these designs are clearly based on the classic Universal Monsters lineup, Mortal Kombat and NetherRealm are both under the Warner Bros. banner. Which would explain why these costumes are more homages than clear one to one replicas. After all, Warner Bros. seemingly doesn’t even want to put their own horror characters in the game, shown by how Ed Boon recently teased fans who wanted Pennywise DLC for Mortal Kombat 11. While Raiden does look the closest to his monster counterpart, Geras and Cetrion are definitely going for more modern interpretations of these classic characters.
Geras is sporting a more modern, Van Helsing or Victor Frankenstein inspired look. While Cetrion seems to be based more on Boris Karloff’s iconic performance as the monster, with a bit of the more gaudy, Brendan Fraser era Mummy thrown in for good measure.
This new costume pack will drop on November 26th for players with early access through the Kombat Pass, but a date has not yet been given for when non-Kombat Pass holders will be able to purchase these costumes. Expect the standard costume pack price of $5.99 as well. Players who are Kombat Pass holders will also gain access to Sindel, and her interesting new retconned backstory, in addition to the Klassic Cassie Cage skin as well on the 26th.
Mortal Kombat 11 is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
