Similar to other fighting games and previous iterations, Mortal Kombat 11 uses alternate skins as an enticing carrot on a stick to help drive players through much of the game’s repeatable content. The skins are aesthetic changes that give each fighter new costumes or design looks. The skins are a very popular feature in the game, so many players are likely prioritizing the unlocks as they work through all of the game’s story mode chapters.
Luckily, unlocking the skins is a fairly straightforward process in MK11. To unlock additional skins and change outfits, fighters need to play the game’s different modes. Basically every mode of the game has some skins available to unlock, so be sure to work through the tutorial, the story mode, and everything else.
If you want to figure out how to unlock a specific skin, that’s fairly easy too. Head to the main menu and navigate to the Kustomize option. From there, open the Characters tab and select the character you want to unlock a skin for. From here, players can view the Cosmetics tab by pressing RB Button or R1 and then selecting Skins.
This screen will explain the unlock conditions for each skin so that players know which mode they should be concentrating on. This is also where players can equip a fighter with a skin that has already been unlocked. That’s all there is to it!
