As revealed on the Mortal Kombat 11 subreddit, the majority of tasks required for completing the character towers in Mortal Kombat 11 have been lowered. Now players should have an easier time unlocking the lower levels of the character towers, while the higher levels are still an investment.

How Character Unlocks Have Changed in MK 11

Level 1 for the character tower in Mortal Kombat 1 is down to 25 uppercuts and throws, which should make it much easier to complete. Level 2 now requires 10 fatalities or brutalities (ending a match with a specific move). Level 3 wants players to complete 25 crushing blows (a hit that zooms in X-ray mode) and spill 10,000 drops of blood. Level 4 is 25 fatal blows (the damaging move that becomes available when your health is low), 10 flawless wins (taking no damage from an opponent), 25 wins, and 25 crushing blows. And finally level 5 is 75 wins, 35 fatal blows, 25 fatalities, and 25 brutalities.

As mentioned, the requirements for each level of the character towers in Mortal Kombat 11 were demanding. Level 2, for example, used to be 75 fatalities, which meant that players were required to complete at least 75 matches, usually more.

It’s also important to point out that all players need to do is unlock the character tower for one of their favorite Mortal Kombat 11 fighters and they will earn progress towards that tower, regardless of if it is active or not. So if you like to play with Raiden online or in other Towers of Time, unlock his character tower now to earn progress.

When that character’s tower does come around on the rotation, players will see their progress logged. In fact, some players might now already have some levels unlocked on their character towers thanks to the lowering of requirements.

Mortal Kombat 11 is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
