PC gamers are in for a special treat as two of Playstation’s hit exclusives have also been revealed to be coming onto PCs. In another reveal, fans were treated to a game promising to offer a truly next-generation VR experience. With tons of other reveal trailers, this award show has been a clear indication of the growing popularity and success of the gaming medium. Here are the most exciting PC games revealed at the Game Awards 2022.
7 Crash Team Rumble
Everyone’s favorite bandicoot is set to make a return next year in a new multiplayer game. The Game Awards revealed the trailer for Crash Team Rumble, an upcoming arena game being developed by Toys for Bob for consoles and PC. Players will have to take control of various characters from the Crash franchise and battle it out to see which team can dump the most Wumpa fruit in their bank.
Play as either one of the heroes or the villains from the franchise and master their unique play style to win. The game is expected to release sometime next year.
6 Transformers Reactivate
Fans were more than excited to see the return of the Autobots in the new reveal trailer for Transformers Reactivate at the Game Awards 2022. Being Developed by Splash Damage, Transformers Reactivate is an upcoming co-op action game that is aiming to introduce a fresh story for fans to dive into.
The cinematic trailer showcased an alien invasion in the happening, while the details of the gameplay are still shrouded in mystery. The game is set to release both on PC and consoles with closed beta set to arrive in 2023.
5 Returnal
Housemarque and Climax Studios’ excellent rouge-like action game, Returnal, is set to lose its PlayStation 5 exclusivity and land on the screens of PC gamers sometime next year. Returnal is a third-person shooter game that follows Selene Vassos as she finds herself trapped in a time loop on a dangerous foreign planet.
Players have to guide Selene traverse the terrains of this mysterious planet while defeating waves of aliens and uncover the mystery surrounding the strange time anomaly keeping her trapped. The game received critical acclaim for its gameplay and offered players a fresh and unique experience.
4 Earthblade
A new pixel-styled 2D platformer, titled Earthblade, was revealed at the Game Awards 2022. This new action indie title is being developed by Maddy Makes Games and Extremely OK Games who are best known for having created Celeste, which is considered to be one of the best platformers ever.
Earthblade is very reminiscent of Celeste in both its style and gameplay but unlike Celeste, has a fantasy setting. The game trailer revealed a character named Nevoa “free-roaming” about a “dynamically loading” map. While not much else is known, the game is set to release sometime in 2024.
3 Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden
Focus Entertainment and Don’t Nod studios are developing a new fantasy action game called Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and judging from its world premiere trailer, the game is going to be a massive title to look out for next year. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden follows two lovers, Antea Duarte and Red mac Raith, who vowed to protect the living from the clutches of the dead.
The catch however, is that Antea herself has turned into a spirit, following a failed mission that got her fatally wounded. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a next-generation title coming to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2023.
2 Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The Game Awards 2022 made an epic reveal for the fans of the Star Wars franchise with the trailer for EA’s next big game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This game is set to continue the story of Cal Kestis from 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and sees an older Cal trying to survive the dangers of the Galaxy.
While EA has not had the best track record for making good Star Wars games, they still managed to capture the magic of this franchise with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Now the sequel is aiming to take things even further. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to release in March 2023.
1 Judas
The creators of Bioshock have finally unveiled their next big project with the reveal of Judas, which is a psychologically thrilling first-person shooting game that follows a troubled girl named Judas as she tries to escape a disintegrating spaceship.
Trapped alongside Judas are a few other survivors which she may either have to kill or befriend in order to make her escape from the dying ship. With no official release date, the game is set to come onto PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
