TaleWorlds made the decision as part of the studio’s concern over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The studio confirmed that its employees are currently working from home, but that it understands this isn’t a privilege everyone has. As such, the game will not only be released early so that those at home can play, but the game will also be discounted so fans can save a bit of money. For the first two weeks of Early Access, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord will be 10% off full price.

As an extra gift to fans of the Mount & Blade franchise who waited through 8 years of development, an additional 10% discount will be given in select digital stores with another Mount & Blade game in their game libraries. The exact price of the game isn’t available.

With Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord’s price and release date confirmed, TaleWorlds went on to describe what content will be available during Early Access. Both Custom Battle and Campaign game modes will be available for singleplayer. Campaign provides, as the name implies, a storyline blended into a structured game progression replete with character customization. Custom Battles will allow players to conquer on their own terms.

As with the recent multiplayer beta, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord’s Early Access will feature four different multiplayer modes. There will be Skirmish, Captain, Team Deathmatch, and Siege. New modes and features, as well as other multiplayer-focused content, will be released throughout Early Access. However, private servers are only expected “closer to the full release of the game.”

There remain a few more days before Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord becomes available, but today’s news should make the wait a little more exciting. It’s been 8 years since Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord was first announced, so getting excited for one less day might seem silly. What it does show is just how much Mount & Blade fans care about getting to finally see what TaleWorlds has been working on for so long.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord releases March 30 in Early Access on PC.
