Most Americans Say Punishments Against Capitol Rioters Are Not Harsh Enough Poll Finds
A new poll from The Washington Post and the University of Maryland found 51 percent of Americans think the legal repercussions for those who forced their way into the U.S. Capitol last year have “not been harsh enough.” Fewer than 2 in 10 Americans told surveyors that the punishments are “too harsh” while 28 percent said they believed the consequences to be fair.
